Kicing out 2017, Bring on 2018

To say I have been neglecting my blog is an understatement, I completely forgot about this little venture I had started three years ago.  But I am back, I may not post like I should, but I will attempt to update this blog on my sporadic life. As a start, I've owned Wyatt two full years now and he went from the scrawny, leggy gelding to a fairly nice looking horse.  He's of course grown quite a bit since then, towering over me now. Chloe has started her official training now, and hoping to have her on the trails at the start of 2018. There will also be baby posts coming 2019, when Rosie and Chloe both have their foals!

Braved the Cold

Yesterday I went out on a trail ride with a group from the barn.  It was cold, icy and windy, but we did it anyways.  All I can say is layers are your friend up here in the cold, harsh North. Of course all the horses were full of piss and vinegar and we didn't think we'd get out very far due to the unknown depth of ice layering the snow. We got out and found that the ice was fairly thin and broke easily underfoot and no horse slipped the entire way.  It did start to blizzard so we decided instead of going another loop around to just head back in, we were out for some time by this point. ~Grell~

A New Year, A Rough Start, And A Promising Year

So the year didn't start off as great as I thought it would and my emotions have been racing through my mind, but I must go on with life. What this post is mostly about is that today I finally got the saddle on Chloe!  I didn't think she'd be big enough, but my little pony sized quarter horse is big enough for an adult saddle.   I didn't get any pictures because the camera wasn't close enough and I was holding her, but there will be pictures as everything progresses.   ~Grell~

Sick of the Cold and Half Way Through Holidays

It's been a while...ooopppsss Haha, well I guess I could say this blog is not getting off to a good start, but I come with a new post tonig -- this morning.   Not a lot of barn activity to be honest, but I did go for a ride last Friday on Rosie.  It's so much easier now having only one horse to ride.  Yes I'm going to be swamp once Azula and Chloe are big enough, but for now I'm enjoying one ridable horse.  Especially with how hectic my work schedule has been.  I just got off ten hour shifts, which would have been cool given if they weren't 3:30pm to 2:00am.  Oh and also the fact that the sun starts to set so freakin' early!  I can't wait for when the days are longer again.   So I snapped a few shots out in the forest on Rosie while riding and I think I'll share them to make up for the poor amount of posting I do.   There we go!  Now on with the blog post! Another thing I'm not going to miss in a few months is the shaggy ...

Some Sort of Introduction...I Guess

Image
So I guess I should first explain, but the growing up with Azula blog is retired and if anyone knew about my World of Warcraft blog...yeah I'm going to delete that as soon as I post this. A lot has happened since the last time you've all heard from me and I deeply apologize for the very long pause.  With starting a new job and actually working an entire year without monthly lay offs I've found it very difficult to do anything else.  So I guess I should fill in why I've started a new blog and it's purpose. First I'll say that it may not be very scheduled and quite sporadic with posts, but I've decided to actually use my twitter account and will advertise whenever I decide to post something. So let's start off with what this blog will be about.  In past blogs I've started it been about World of Warcraft and my adventures in that MMO, and then I turned to blogging about my training experiences with my first filly, Azula.  At that time I had a pain...
